The following were elected as Trustees at the Annual Meeting


Elected to a 3 year term:

M. Trant Campbell, J.D.
Trant is an attorney with the Springfield-based firm of Annino, Draper & Moore where his practice concentrates in estate planning, conservatorship, probate, guardianship and family law. He is a graduate of the University of Connecticut School of Law. Trant was elected to an interim term as a trustee of the Foundation in March, 2009. He currently serves on the Investment Committee.

Ellen Freyman, J.D.
Ellen is an attorney with the Springfield-based firm of Shatz, Schwartz & Fentin where her real estate practice includes assisting developers of affordable and senior housing projects. She received her J.D. from Western New England College School of Law.

Ellen was elected to an interim term as a trustee of the Foundation in November, 2008. She serves on the Planning Committee and will stand for nomination as President of the Board of Trustees.

Cheryl A. Stanley, Ed.D.
Cheryl is a Professor of Education at Westfield State College, where she has worked since 1993. Previously, she served as the Vice President of Education at the Urban League of Springfield. She received her Ed.D. from UMass. Dr. Stanley was elected to an interim term as a trustee of the Foundation in September, 2008. She currently serves on the Resident Life Committee.

Walter Woodgett
Walter has served as a Corporate Registered Investment Advisor at MassMutual since 2006. He began his career as a financial advisor with Merrill-Lynch in 1987. He held marketing positions with AT&T and IBM. Mr. Woodgett received his B.A. from UMass.

Walter was elected to an interim term as a trustee of the Foundation in September, 2008.

He serves on the Investment Committee and will stand for nomination as Secretary of the Board of Trustees.

Elected to a 1 year Term

Mary Beth Dowd
Mary Beth is the Client Services Director for Greater Springfield Senior Services. She joined GSSSI in 1988 as a case worker, and held five progressively more responsible positions before assuming her current duties in 2005. Mary earned her B.A. at Assumption College. She is standing for election as a new Trustee.

Whiting Houston, Jr.
Whiting is a retired trust officer with Bank of America and its Springfield predecessor banks. He is currently serving his second term as President of the Board of Trustees. After some thirty years of service on the Board, and now that term limits are in place, Whiting's final term on the Board expires with the Annual Meeting. However, as past-president he is eligible for election for one additional year.
